I have found this car to be excellent. Its not the sort of car you simply get into to drive without thinking about it. Its the type of car that demands your interest - but is rewarding all the same.

The main reason I chose the i3 was that I really wanted an EV but wanted something more sporty and stylish than a Leaf. These isn't a lot of other choice at the moment. Having said that, I am really happy with it so far.

Car is very stylish and gets great comments. It is VERY quick off the mark, but that chews up your range and your tyres! Fun to drive, and the range Extender is a must for this model on NZ open roads. Be aware that the stated range on the car's display is 'best achievable' and can only be achieved in ideal economical around town driving. Out of town NZ road conditions and colder weather seriously deplete the range. Be aware of the rare tyre size, making replacement tyres extremely expensive. Also be aware that using the BMW tyre goo (the only 'spare' you get with this car) will render the tyre useless once taken to a dealer, and using it will cost you a replacement tyre, and they're not cheap, as mentioned. There are other options that will not destroy the tyres after-puncture-life. Be aware that the Adaptive Cruise Control will cut out often in certain conditions. Do check out the many forums and FB pages to get good info on the pitfalls.
