About Us

Managing Director Nick Wheeler has been in the motor vehicle industry for over 10 Years. He is the third generation of Motor Dealers in the Wheeler family to serve the Christchurch community and is proud of the long ties the family has with the many customers throughout the region. The first Wheeler Motors was opened in 1938 and was one of the initiators of importing motor vehicles from the United Kingdom.

Nick has spent considerable time researching the differing motor industry’s around the world, and still believes the best ‘Quality and Value' for the New Zealand buyer comes out of Japan. With this in mind Nick opened a small vehicle wholesale company ‘Motorsport Wholesale Ltd’ in 2005, and spent many months in Japan researching the best areas to purchase specific quality stock. In early 2006 our Managing officer moved permanently to Japan to ensure that every Vehicle purchased is Seen, touched and tested by one of our staff before being sent to New Zealand.

In 2004 Nick Wheeler and Richard Hay opened, in conjunction with Vehicle Inspection New Zealand (VINZ), one of the few Vehicle compliance and Service Centres in Christchurch. With this addition Wheeler Motors has improved its ‘Quality Control’ to as higher a level as possible in the industry. All our vehicles go through a 197 Point Check and are fully serviced upon entry to the country.

Wheeler Motors prides itself on the level of quality it has achieved and on the ‘fact’ that it has never lost a sale on an independent check on any of the company's imported vehicles!
